A Walk In The Park

With new adventures upon the horizon that’s taking me to a new city, I know my time is limited to share with my family and friends. That’s why yesterday I spent my evening with one of my really great friends, Hallee.

She too, is heading off to a different place in the fall to study, which made finding time to hang-out all the more important.

We first went to Centennial Park and had a walk around the lake. Taking in the scenery and wildlife, while discussing our soon-to-be University life was really enjoyable! It felt so good to talk about dorm rooms and orientation week with someone who was also going through the same process as myself.

While goofing off, we decided to go grab some frozen treats from Gojis to celebrate the end of our summer jobs and the beginning of our new chapters. Of course, I decided with a Pink Lemonade Sorbet, topped with fresh Strawberries. Hallee chose a delicious, chocolate sundae topped with a waffle cone and a cherry, of course!

The weather was also impeccable so we were able to enjoy the frozen goodies outside on the patio.

Our time together wasn’t very long but very enjoyable and I know I’ll miss her over the school year. Thank goodness that she’s only a text or call away!

I’ve learned over the course of my life that friends are so significant and it’s extremely important that we express how much they mean to us. That’s why I am giving you a task. I want you to go message a friend and tell them that you’re grateful that they’re in your life. This can be your best friend, a great friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, or perhaps a friend that is long-distance. I know they’ll appreciate your kind words.
